  • Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium at Finham Park School

The Pupil Premium is additional funding for schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers.

Our Pupil Premium strategy is published each year in line with the Department for Education requirements and is available to view online. The strategy is developed with the latest educational research in mind and is reviewed each year to ensure value for money and that we are working to close the advantage gap.

We aim to remove barriers to learning for Pupil Premium students and we use the Education Endowment Foundation’s 3-tiered approach in creating the strategy to provide:

    - high-quality teaching

    - targeted academic support

    - wider strategies (including pastoral and attendance support)

The funding available allows us to ensure that we provide high-quality teaching and learning, including continuing professional development for teachers, supporting with equipment and uniform costs and supporting in the development of well-rounded students.

Our approach is tailored to the needs of our students and we do not have a single approach for all students who are entitled to Pupil Premium funding. This funding and our approach also benefits all students at Finham Park School, through staff professional development and recruiting and retaining high-quality teachers.

    Free School Meal Eligibility

The school receives pupil premium grant funding for students if they:

    • are registered for free school meals
    • have been registered for free school meals in the past 6 years
    • are, or have been, in care
    • have parents in the armed forces

When a child is eligible for free school meals they receive an allowance on their canteen account to be able to buy meals.

If you would like to check if your child is eligible for Frees School Meals, you can look online here: http://www.coventry.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals. If your circumstances have recently changed, or if you have never previously checked if your child is eligible, we would encourage you to look for the support available.

We are aware that your child may not be eligible for Pupil Premium funding, but you may be concerned about being able to afford to provide everything your child needs for them to be in school. Please do get in touch if you are concerned about equipment, uniform or educational visits as we may be able to help.
