Finham Park School Celebrates International School Award Recognition
Finham Park School is proud to announce that we have once again been awarded the prestigious International School Award, recognising our strong and ongoing commitment to global education.
The 2026 award ceremony took place in Westminster on Monday 2 February and was attended by Members of Parliament and representatives from schools around the UK. The award was collected on behalf of Finham Park by Jenny Darby, Head of Modern Foreign Languages.
This reaccreditation highlights the exceptional quality of our international work and the dedication of our staff and students. The assessors praised our “clear commitment to developing cultural awareness throughout the student body and wider community,” recognising both our diverse programme of international activities and our achievement of the World Class School Award.
Throughout the year, students across the school take part in a rich variety of internationally focused projects. Highlights include our whole-school initiatives, Interfaith Week and Celebrating Cultural Diversity, which encourage students and staff to engage with global perspectives and strengthen connections within our community.
We were also commended for our collaborative international activities, each enhanced by strong curriculum preparation and follow-up work. These experiences—including the Kiel partnership, visit to Almería and our digital link with schools in China via TalkPal—help broaden pupils’ cultural understanding and bring authentic global stories into our classrooms.
Scott McDonald, Chief Executive of the British Council, said: ‘The school has earned this prestigious award through its inspirational international work and links with schools abroad.
The International School Award is a chance for schools to be recognised for their important work bringing the world into their classrooms. The desire to build on their international work shines through and it is with upmost pride that we celebrate their achievements.
By embedding an international dimension in children’s education, these schools are preparing their students for successful lives in the UK or further afield, empowering them to be global citizens, and are creating vital opportunities in an increasingly global economy.’
We are incredibly proud of this recognition and of everyone at Finham Park School who contributed to this achievement. Congratulations to all involved and thank you for your continued enthusiasm for developing global citizenship across our school community.
