Celebrating exceptional attitudes to learning in year 8

We are delighted to recognise the outstanding achievements of eight students who have demonstrated a consistently exceptional attitude to learning in their recent progress reports. Through their diligence, confidence, and commitment, these students exemplify what it means to make the right choices every day in the classroom.
The students – Will, Jessica, Ioan, Nicholas, Connie, Ruby, Gurleen and Juliet – have shown impressive consistency across subjects. Their teachers describe them as focused, engaged and willing to contribute thoughtfully in lessons. They approach their work with care, remain positive when faced with challenge, and take pride in doing their best, lesson after lesson.
During discussions, the students were able to articulate clearly what helps them succeed in school. They spoke highly of the supportive learning environments created by their favourite teachers. In particular, they highlighted the respect shown to all students, the careful pace of lessons to ensure understanding, and the thoughtful adjustments made to support individual needs and challenges.
Students also valued the balance teachers strike between strong classroom management and opportunities for independence – including chances to work with peers, enjoy freedom within lessons, and engage in fun, varied activities across subjects. The importance of kindness, one of our school values, was frequently mentioned when students reflected on the relationships they have with their teachers.
We are incredibly proud of these students for their mature outlook, openness, and consistent commitment to learning. Their success is a testament not only to their own hard work and positive attitudes, but also to the daily efforts of staff who strive to create inclusive, supportive and high-quality learning experiences in every classroom.
Congratulations to all eight students on this well-deserved recognition.
