RISING STAR IN TABLE TENNIS!

Rising Talent: Alex (Year 7) Shines in County Table Tennis Championship
Alex (Year 7) is quickly making a name for himself in the world of table tennis. Alex recently competed in the Warwickshire Schools Individual Table Tennis Championships under 13’s age category, facing a strong field of around 24 players. Despite being one of the younger competitors, he delivered an outstanding performance, finishing in third place. Impressively, the only players ahead of him were from Year 8 — both older and more experienced.
Alex’s game is already marked by technical skill and confidence. His trademark backhand punch is his favourite shot, but it’s his deceptive serves and variety of spin that give his opponents the biggest challenge.
Table tennis runs in the family, too; Alex’s uncle competed at under‑17 level, providing inspiration for Alex’s growing ambition. Alex trains under coach Ryan Stockham, a former top‑15 ranked player in England, and hones his skills playing in the Coventry League representing Phoenix Table Tennis Club in Wyken.
With talent, determination, and first‑class coaching behind him, Alex is excited to keep improving and see just how far the sport can take him. He’s already proving to be a fantastic ambassador for the school — and a player to watch in the years ahead.
