Entry Requirements

A range of GCSE grades A-C is essential but the most important requirement is that students should have an enthusiasm for being creative. A GCSE in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics or Textiles is recommended.

Exam Board: AQA

AS: Unit 1 - Materials, Components and Application 50% of AS, 25% of A Level 2 hour written paper - 80 marks
Unit 2 - Learning through Designing and Making - 50% of AS
25% of A level Coursework - approx 50 hours - 80 marks.
Written or electronic Design portfolio and the Making of a product.

A2: Unit 3 - Design and Manufacture - 25% of A level 2 hour written paper - 84 marks
Unit 4 - Design and Make Practice - Coursework - approx 60 hours 85 marks. Written or electronic Design folder and the making of a product
